Method of application of Acetobacter is main constraint from farmer’s point of view as it is endophytes. Method of applications are restricted. So in order to evaluate new and easier method of application like foliar application, it will increase application of Acetobacter for sugarcane on large scale by farmers.
Azotobacter liquid bioinoculant (ALB) tested on sugarcane variety Co 86032 for three years in suru planting season. The maximum cane yield 147.17 tons per hectare with sustained juice quality compared to recommended dose of fertilizer application (109.61 tons per hectare) was obtained by application of Azotobacter liquid bioinoculant @2.5 liter per hectare as a sett treatment at planting and soil application at earthing up with reducing 25% N.
After recommended by Joint AGRESCO 2008, the section started production and supply of liquid bio-fertilizers from July 2008.
Liquid formulation technology for N fixer and P solubilizer as a APLB has successfully been used at field scale level for all crops and for enrichment of compost.
