The Entomology Section established in 1982 is engaged in research aspects like sugarcane pest control, screening of sugarcane genotypes for resistance against major pests, survey of natural enemies of sugarcane pests and multiplication of bio-control agents. Studies on life cycle and feeding potential of predators Dipha aphidivora, MEYR, Micromus igorotus Bank and Syrfid fly are being continued.
