The Soil Science section is engaged in research on nutrient availability of sugarcane soils, integrated nutrient management, remote sensing technique for identification and reclamation of saline-alkali soils and performance evaluation of new fertilizers. It is also engaged in the production of micronutrient liquid fertilizer and its supply to sugar factories for boosting the sugarcane yields. Since 1986, the section has undertaken various research projects on soil fertility managements and analysis work regarding soil and water in Maharashtra State.
