The section have a 15,000 sq. ft., well equipped tissue culture laboratory which is being used for the production of micropropagated sugarcane plantlets as well as for doing research on various aspects tissue culture of sugarcane and other crops.
The present sugarcane plantlets production capacity of the laboratory is 1.50 million plantlets per year.
The section also have a 10,000 sq. ft. of area under Green Houses which are being used for hardening of tissue cultured plantlets.
In addition to above about 0.4 hectare of open land is available for further hardening of the micropropagated plantlets.
Additional land is available for conducting field trials and field experiments involving comparative field performance trials.
