Undertake research for developing cost-effective alcohol production technologies from alternate raw materials.
Prepare Detailed Project Reports (DPR) for Molasses and Grain based distilleries, ENA plants, Fuel ethanol plants, Multi-feed and multi-product distilleries, Biogas based power generation plants, Distillery Effluent Treatment systems i.e. Biogas & Secondary treatment, Bio-composting, Integrated & Stand-alone spent wash evaporation plants, Reverse Osmosis plants, Spent wash incineration boilers etc.
Troubleshooting of process problems, identification of innovative cost effective technologies for transfer and adoption in the industry.
Develop potential yeast strains with high alcohol and/or high temperature tolerance for the benefit of the distillery industry.
Develop database/ data bank information for distillery industry to review policy, formulate strategy and propose action for further improving their performance.
