The Statistics Section is a major contributor in the Management Information System and dissemination of updated information.
Major activities of the section includes -

Collection, compilation, analysis and maintain Sugar Statistics on Sugar and allied industry of Maharashtra in particular and National as well as International in general. Major function is to advice and assist in planning of the experiment and data analysis work. Imparts academic training in Statistics and Quality Control to the students undergoing various courses conducted by the Institute. Supports the management with relevant information extracted by processing and analyzing data.

The Statistics Section publishes annually 'Technical Performance of Sugar Factories in Maharashtra' that present comparative analytical statistics of production as well as technical information of operational sugar factories during the crushing season.
