Sugarbeet Processing Pilot Plant Project in Maharashtra State With objectives of establishing sugarbeet processing plant attached to the present sugarcane based sugar factories and distilleries for the production of white sugar and ethanol. Shri.Sharadchandraji Pawar, President of VSI decided to install 100 TBD pilot sugar beet processing plant at Samarth SSK Ltd, Jalna in Maharashtra working in conjunction with existing sugar producing plant.
VSI established in 1975 by the sugarcane growers of the co-operative sugar factories, is the only orgainzation of its kind in the World. The institute performs under one umbrella all scientific, technical and educational functions relevant to the Sugar Industry. The institute endeavour to improve and increase the productivity in the Sugar Industry through three main channels namely - Academics, Research and Extension.
