Agricultural Engineering - Objectives

Agricultural Engineering section works with the core objective of improving economic status of sugarcane farmers by application of an appropriate, innovative, modern and cost-effective strategy as regards to Sugarcane Irrigation Water Management and Farm Mechanization.

1) Devising a strategy or action plan to utilize the acquired knowledge of irrigation water management in increasing water-use-efficiency and farm mechanization in reducing cost of cultivation of sugarcane and thereby assisting in achieving the target of increasing average sugarcane yield and sugar recovery of Maharashtra State.

2) Inter-disciplinary approach within the Institute and also with other organizations at National/ International level while planning the research projects.
